Trend Alert: Terrazzo

Trends in interior design come and go frequently, but sometimes certain trends make a comeback after falling out of popularity. A great example of this phenomenon is terrazzo. Terrazzo is a composite materials made from chips of glass, marble, quartzite, or other natural stones, held together with concrete. Originally popular in the 1960s and 1970s as a cheap and durable flooring material, it has seen a major resurgence recently. These days, terrazzo is not just a flooring material. It is used for countertops and other fixtures. The signature speckled pattern has also been used on wallpaper and other home decor items. Below are some fantastic spaces featuring terrazzo. Enjoy!
